Brand Spotlight: Hoorsenbuhs Jewelry

Hoorsenbuhs is the most L.A. jewelry company that you’ve never heard of. I stumbled upon this brand while trying on sunglasses at Glasses L.T.D.’s shop on Michigan Avenue last weekend (mention my name there for a pretty sweet discount). I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the brand since then. It was founded by the photographer Robert Keith in 2005 as a jewelry line and has since expanded into more accessories such as eyewear. Using his family’s seafaring roots and the thick and heavy jewelry of the 1970s as inspiration, Keith has designed pieces with Damien Hirst, Jay Z, Rihanna, Pharrell, Kanye West, and Mary-Kate Olson among many others. They expanded into the eyewear segment in 2018 with help from Austin Sands, the son of Chrome Hearts eyewear founder Larry Sands. You can easily see how the pieces are inspired by a similar rock-and-roll era of Los Angeles. Each piece from the collection is a unique piece of art and retails from $700 at Glasses L.T.D. in Chicago. I would recommend visiting this brick and mortar location if you’re in town as you’re able to try on the frames in person. If you’re looking to splurge on a unique pair of designer sunglasses, look no further than Hoorsenbuhs. To view their collection, visit Hoorsenbuhs’ website here.
