Anthony Vaccarello's New YSL

It's been a minute since Anthony Vaccarello's new creations hit the runway of Paris last fall.  He took over the brand in 2016 when Hedi Slimane peaced out and dragged Yves Saint Laurent in the dirt behind him, leaving the fashion house with no guidance and complete disarray. However, Vaccarello, being the scrappy pit bull that he is, has been performing much needed plastic surgery to to YSL's branding since his start earlier last year. With the addition of his trademark sexy slits and one shoulder silhouettes, he's taken the Youth from YSL's name and made his mark on the runway to make this upcoming szn one of the most anticipated for the brand in a long time. In light of his controversial campaign in Paris last month that were branded as "misogynist" and dropped by the ARPP, there is a discussion to be had on whether Vaccarello's return captures European laissez-faire attitude towards sexuality and of YSL's Golden Era, or a serious breach of industry-set regulations of dignity and respect.
